Towards making this site more interactive, we are now soliciting and publishing short essays from our readers.
Feel free to read through the previous comments first, and to respond to them as appropriate. Please, no flaming. Let's try and keep the discourse constructive and intelligent. Also, please do not embed HTML code in your comments -- we have already lost the contents of one forum under mysterious circumstances. We would rather this did not have to be a moderated forum. You might want to consider writing in your favorite text editor and then later copying and pasting it into the space provided below. (You may need to tab into the field to be able to paste.)
We will randomly select forum contributors to receive free copies of DeadBase, Jr. or its credit equivalent. To be eligile for the drawing essays must reasonable both in length (more than 25 words), and in content. Multiple entries from a single author which meet those criteria are acceptable as long as they are distinct -- each contribution will improve your odds. Winners will be notified by e-mail.
The Grateful Dead were a part of us, providing many with not only music, but with friends, lifestyles (have you ever scheduled vacation time around a Dead tour?), and to some even a purpouse in life. As we close in on the end of our first year without our beloved band, many Deadheads are still trying to cope with the loss, and are desparately searching for something to fill the void in our lives. Have you found any answers or substitutes? Are they sufficient? (Posted 6/29/96)
